The sessions I offer, include a mixture of the following 2 guided meditation techniques.  NLP and hypnotherapy techniques can be incorporated for maximum effect.

 
Mindfulness

  • The aim is to become present in life to enjoy the now.
  • Part of the process is bringing the attention back to the internal experience of the body and mind.
  • Trains the brain to not be so concerned about the past or the future and allows one to choose thoughts.
  • The aim is to watch what is happening within the body and the mind without judging it.
  • Focus is made on the breath and the sensations within the body.
  • It requires discipline to do alone and unguided but it is practiced widely.
  • MBSR Mindfulness based Stress reduction programmes are based on this.
  • CBT incorporates Mindfulness.
  • There’s Lots of research into the positive effect e.g. stress reduction, improved sleep, reduces worry and negative thinking.
  • Originates from the Buddhist tradition.
  • Can be integrated into life e.g.  being totally present whilst making a cup of tea, car journey or conversations.
  • Relaxes the mind and body.
  • The Headspace App is based on Mindfulness.


 

 
Guided Visualisation Meditation 

  • Story or journey based that take you somewhere pleasant e.g. beach, meadow
  • Easier to stick to and tends to be very enjoyable for the mind.
  • Includes a therapy based theme e.g. anything from confidence to stress to IBS and the menopause. See list below.
  • Guided visualisation meditations utilise the power of your imagination and the power of visualisation to effect positive personal changes. Therefore they are often more powerful than traditional, passive meditation.
  • Guided meditations help you to vividly imagine positive experiences that represent, either directly or symbolically, whatever changes you wish to express in your life.
  • During a guided meditation you are in such a deep state of relaxation that the imagery you are guided to visualise can become very vivid.
  • Guided visualisations includes positive suggestions provide a blissful experience that results in real and immediate benefits. You’ll feel better; physically, emotionally, mentally and spiritually.
  • Guided meditations help you to achieve a state of deep inner stillness, so that your mind can be cleared of clutter and unwanted thoughts, and then filled with vivid visualisation experiences that effect positive personal changes.
