What is hypnosis?
Hypnosis is often referred to as a trance state. This can be described as a deep state of relaxation or
Hyper focus and concentration.
Hypnosis is an altered state of consciousness that we experience on a daily basis in natural situations such as:
Reading a book or watching a film
Listening to music
Due to staged shows the impression has been given that we loose control in hypnosis. This couldn’t be further from the truth. In hypnotherapy no control is lost, you are fully conscious and can move and talk. You can open your eyes at anytime, changes cannot be made that you do not agree with and you are always in full control. You may just find that you are so relaxed that you are happy to enjoy the peace and remain still but the choice is always yours.
What is Hypnotherapy?
Hypnotherapy is the use of hypnosis for therapeutic purposes. Hypnotherapy communicates with both the conscious and subconscious mind to facilitate positive change.
The subconscious mind stores all our past memories, emotions, beliefs, images and thoughts. In a relaxed altered state (hypnosis) we can identify and access any repressed emotions or memories that are at the root of our current issues. These memories can then be healed by going through a simple process.
Hypnotherapy also includes rehearsing positive scenes and scenarios in our minds along with bringing in the relevant positive feelings. This is a powerful process and encourages the subconscious mind to provide us with what is needed on the day, e.g. stay calm & provide positive thoughts.
What is Hypnotherapy Like?
Hypnotherapy is very relaxing. This can be achieved by taking you through relaxing the body completely and then talking you through a relaxing scene such as a beach or a place in nature. You may feel that you are unable to visualise this and that is fine as we can utilise other senses. Although if I asked you if you could picture your car or your house/garden, you would more than likely be able bring something to mind. It doesn’t have to be a clear image, the feeling of it is enough.
Hypnotherapy feels very similar to guided meditation and deep relaxation. Most people are happy to stay in that relaxed, calm & happy state.
Hypnotherapy works well on its own and with Reiki. Combination treatments are offered as Reiki continues to work on the issue on an energetic level.

Confidence is a state of mind. When we feel confident, we accept ourselves and believe in our abilities. When we don't feel confident, we can become stressed, anxious, unfulfilled and ultimately unhappy.
Low self-confidence is something many of us suffer with and can be a result of many factors like fear of the unknown, low self-esteem and fear of other people's perceptions. This lack of confidence can hold us back from developing both personally and professionally.
Here are some of the reasons why hypnosis is an effective way to overcome low confidence:
Hypnotherapy works with the subconscious
A hypnosis session targets the subconscious mind, where negative thoughts and beliefs about ourselves exist.
Everyone is born with confidence; it is the false beliefs that end up in our subconscious that deplete it. By unlearning these beliefs, our confidence levels return to how they would be naturally.
The basis behind hypnotherapy is that when your subconscious believes you are confident, this translates to your conscious mind. This therefore improves your thought patterns and actions to improve your confidence.
Hypnotherapy can help you heal
Past hurts and disappointments can leave emotional scars behind. While you may have mentally moved beyond these uncomfortable experiences of the past, your subconscious can hold onto them, and memories of them can contribute to low self esteem. Hypnosis can help those scars heal, allow you to forgive yourself or others that have hurt you and move on. The past does not have to equal the future.

Healing the inner child with Hypnotherapy and NLP

Do you sometimes find that there are times, when someone makes a comment or you’re faced with a situation that other people appear to be fine with but you experience an uncomfortable emotion or reaction in yourself? This can be confusing, upsetting and limiting and can be due to a hurt inner child. The emotional reaction to the situation can be similar to the age of the child on the original upsetting event. The subconscious mind stores painful memories and pattern matches to situations that are similar. For example if as a 13 year old you felt totally humiliated at school when giving a presentation, you may as an adult feel very uncomfortable speaking in groups of people. Or if as a child you had an alcoholic parent, you may feel rejected by others easily and or feel uncomfortable with people in authority. There are obviously many more scenarios.
Inner child healing done through Hypnotherapy and Neuro Linguistic Programming (NLP: therapy tools used by successful therapists) can really help. There are several tools to use. An example of one simple process is guiding you to deep relaxation then going on a beautiful journey to a place in nature. Then you will have the opportunity to meet your inner child. We will then go through the process of showing love to that child and saying the words that are needed to heal at that time. This is done in your mind and doesn’t have to be spoken out loud if you wish. You will be guided step by step through the process.
This along with the other techniques that I use can be very healing. The memories will still be present but will not bring up the same negative emotion. This can be very freeing and liberating.
I have done inner child healing myself so I know personally that it works and it has been very successful for clients also.
Hypnotherapy is not a talking therapy so if you feel you need counselling or psychotherapy then please do so first. These tools are direct and solution focused so can be used after talking therapies, if this is what you need.
The number of sessions vary, some people may need 2/3 sessions, others may need 4/6 plus. It also depends if other issues arise that you would like help with.

Some events in life can be life changing such as an interview, exams, new job, auditions, performances etc but sometimes our fear of failure, general nerves and lack of confidence within ourselves can get in the way. These strong feelings can be debilitating and interfere with us performing at our best and at worse can stop us from even attempting a possible life changing situation. For others life can be more challenging dealing with the people around them either at home or work because they may not feel as strong as they could be which can cause an all manor of issues.

The good thing about most of the techniques that I use is that you don’t need to be hypnotised for them to work as the process itself is enough. Although all my clients enjoy the wonderful relaxed and peaceful feeling the hypnotherapy provides so they are happy to go on the journey.

Most clients feel very empowered after their first session as a lot can be achieved. I would recommend around 3 sessions but it may take a little more or in several cases it has taken less.

One Off Hypnotherapy Sessions or Breakthrough Healing Packages

Along with being life changing hypnotherapy can be very pleasant as the aim is to get you to relax deeply and to help you to feel very good about yourself.
My sessions often start with relaxing the body and taking you to a beautiful scene such as a meadow or another preferred relaxing place. If you’re not so visual we can take another approach although most people can bring something to mind even if it’s not a clear image and the pleasant feeling associated with this can be enough.
A typical session is where we work on releasing any thoughts, feelings, beliefs or emotions that are holding you back. I often don't need to know the details as I talk you through making this release. I will then work on building up your confidence and strengths. Occasionally we may need to go back and heal a triggering event and this is often a very peaceful process. Obviously if this is too traumatic, we can look alternative approaches.
There are techniques for helping you to overcome a situation where a part of you wants to be or achieve something (e.g. a new job, being calmer) but another part of you is holding you back and stopping you from achieving this. You may not logically know what it is but we can still make this change. There are processes to help you to change an unwanted behaviour in certain situations e.g. you may want to stop getting nervous in social situations.
One off Sessions
You can simply come for a one-off session to give you a wellbeing & confidence boost without the need to release or visualise anything. This session encourages you to stress less, think more highly of yourself, exercise and enjoy life more. If you would like a session devoted to lowering stress levels this is alsoavailable.
